It was important to get a reaction to our below-par performance the previous week and we certainly got it.

Credit to the team, they had listened and worked hard at getting their mindset right for this game and were excellent throughout. Southwark are a strong team as their previous results had proved but we were more than a match for them.

On a windy day at home, conditions were difficult, but we played excellently throughout and were unlucky not to get anything from the game. We conceded late on in the first half with an error costing us, the timing being unfortunate.

Despite being a goal down we battled strongly in the second half but couldn't quite find the net. On the other hand, Southwark also failed to breach our defense and although we lost 1-0 we can take a lot of positives from the game. One of our best performances certainly this season.

Another player of many to show great improvements this season is Michael who, as we saw last week, can adapt to any position asked to play. He had a fine performance and deservedly took the star player award.
