Last week's first half performance was fantastic, but this week's possibly even better.

It might be too soon to tell, but those many games where we went behind to an early goal are behind us, for the time being at least. We are starting well and ready straight from the whistle.

It has to said that Seymour must have wondered how they did not score in the first half. A brilliant display of goalkeeping by Dominic again, tremendous defending and a string of near misses kept the score at 0-0 . Our goal was leading a charmed life it has to be said. Daniel, Michael and Luke all stood firm, whilst the rest of the team also put in a lot of work helping out.

Although we were finding it difficult to mount too many attacks we did manage to break on a few occasions. On one such attack. our determination was rewarded when Sam, shortly after coming on, got to the ball quickest to put the ball in the net and score his first ever goal for OWFC. Well done Sam, his more advanced role in midfield has shown another side to his game.

At 1-0 up at half time, we thought that with a bit more luck and a slight slope advantage, we might just hold out and win it. But, sadly it was not to be. Seymour are a good side and once they found their shooting boots, they scored 5 without reply. I think that first half was a definite surprise to them and showed that we are no pushovers and have improved hugely since the start of the season.

Dominic kept the score down with more saves in the second half and although we worked hard, that effort in the first half took its toll. Our heads dropped a little understandably. Still, 5-1 was certainly no disgrace and there were lots of positives again.

Star Player had to be a defender this week, although special praise to Sam for his first goal and Dominic for his keeping. Luke shaded it with his all 'round performance including some great tackles and passing as we broke out.
