Sometimes you don't get rewarded and today was one of those days.

After a minute's silence which both teams observed perfectly, we didn't get going from the kick off and were much quieter than usual. Perhaps understandable given what preceded.

Elmstead had the best of the early exchanges and scored a goal when we were caught cold. We were two down before we started to compete but from that point on the two teams were more evenly matched.

Three down at half time, we got a quick goal after the second half started, Ryan Vigor smashing home the ball into the left hand bottom corner with an excellent finish. Elmstead then got a fourth and whilst we never gave up, we couldn't hit the second goal that would have spurred us on. We missed several chances and despite getting into good positions, couldn't quite convert them.
We were certainly the better team in the second half but are left to rue the slow start; something to work on in training this week!

We are competing well every week against teams that have been together for more than one season. We have to be realistic and know that we will start getting the wins we most definitely deserve.

Today's Star Player = Luke Fox. Strong throughout, particularly in his second spell of the game after returning from a leg injury. Well done Luke and well done team.
