Another great match which saw two well matched teams battle it out to the very end.
We were always in the game which ebbed and flowed throughout. Each week improvements are visible and it cannot be long before we have another victory to our name. The first half saw Pumas come close on several occasions, but some missed opportunities and excellent goalkeeping by Dominic kept them at bay. Eventually our defence was breached and Pumas scored before the half time whistle.
The second half started as the first half had ended and we got our reward scoring a well deserved goal, taken brilliantly by Jack, rounding off a fine move and run from deep within our half. At that stage it could have gone either way and a draw would have been a fair result and no less than we deserved. Alas, it was not to be and Pumas scored two more without reply, despite some great attacking play and threat to Pumas goal. Our defence also has to take credit for standing firm.
It's so pleasing to see this group of boys develop into football players, work together as a team and compete with tremendous energy and spirit EVERY week - and to think they barely knew each other three months ago with many not having played in a team before!
A very credible result in this Trophy game against a team one division higher.
Star Player this week = Daniel Addington. Another solid defensive performance, the latest of many.
