Elmstead put us under a lot of pressure from the start and we had to defend several corners and set pieces before we put a pass together ourselves . Nathan usual disciplined performance held it together and it was good to see him controlling the ball looking up , setting himself and trying to find a team mate . We finally cracked and Kenan couldn't do much about the 4 goals we gave the opposition before we even had an attempt on goal ourselves . The first half became even more frustrating as Max and Jack finally turned it on but couldn't get the goal despite both rattling the cross bar , Jack from a well connected volley from outside the box and Max from the penalty spot . The boys responded fantastically to the half time chat , Milo and Jasper showed desire all over the pitch , best 20 minutes they've had all season , both running with the ball from our own half , determined to cause havoc ,well done boys . Jackson won every loose ball and covered every blade of grass and his range of passing justified sharing player of the year with Ben , who we clearly was missing today , up until we got the break through ; Jack put the defender under pressure from a goal kick , scrambled for the ball to bounce towards Kenan who cleverly lobbed the keeper , so pleased for " our Kenni the joker " great we got him back before season ended . Elmstead still had the threat going forward and their big lad managed to score another goal for them which put the game beyond us . The boys attitude was brilliant and they just kept knocking on the door , endless energy in the heat and fully deserved a couple more goals and so Jack stepped up and similar to the other boys on the pitch , had his best game in a while and confidently drove the ball into back of the net , first with his right and second with his left with very good technique that I know he's been working on .

In the end the game finished a 3 5 loss but felt like a victory because of the positive energy the boys showed .
